The top requests for skills coaching

Probably up to a third of coaching clients ask for coaching in a specific skill.  Presentations and business writing are the top two.

Presentations:
Some coaching clients would rather die than give a presentation!  Presentation nerves is common; more people are being asked to give presentations, in internal meetings, client meetings or presenting business reports and proposals. Also giving team presentations and presenting course work for example.  Going back to presentations it has been shown that people giving presentations are judged on three areas:

  1. How you look
  2. How you sound
  3. How you organise.

In order to be effective in the above three aspects there are six steps:

  • Know your audience
  • Know your material
  • Structure your presentation
  • Practice, practice, practice
  • Prepare, prepare, prepare
  • Calm yourself from the inside

And while you’re practising you need feedback!  From a coach!  Then from the audience.

I offer support after a presentation if that is what you would like, useful if you need to give presentations regularly.
